Meet Jacquelyn
Hi! I’m Jacquelyn. I’m a local reading tutor, a guide for families helping children develop positive habits and skills, and the author of The Behavior Management Handbook for a Balanced Approach. I love helping kids grow into confident, independent, and joyful learners.
I earned my Bachelor’s at the University of Florida and my Master’s at the University of New Mexico. I’ve trained in research-based reading programs like SPIRE, Wilson, LETRS, and Sounds Sensible. These methods help children build strong reading skills, from decoding words to really enjoying books. I’ve loved seeing students make real progress and gain lasting confidence in themselves.
I also love living in Albuquerque. Its parks, trails, and family-friendly events make it such a fun place for kids to explore and learn. One of my passions is helping families connect and strengthen our community, starting with our children. Through my newsletter, The 505 Family Post, I share local events, activities, and ideas to bring families together.
Along the way, I wrote The Behavior Management Handbook for a Balanced Approach, full of practical tools families can use to build positive habits at home and support their child’s growth.
Why families love working with me:
I help struggling readers catch up and thrive
I help children who are already doing well reach even higher
Parents gain practical tools to support growth at home
